Full test in Multihulls World N°196: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/motor/vandal-46-explorer-a-4x4-of-the-seas-in-catamaran-mode ? The Vandal Marine brand was created by Dutch manufacturer Tenderworks, who specialize in tenders for megayachts. The main idea behind the project was to bring to market a true "all-terrain" powercat, inspired by workboats and featuring an innovative design with asymmetrical hulls linked by a central foil capable of optimizing the equation that combines speed/consumption/passage though the water. The aluminum hulls are protected by impressive thick scantlings, and the welded parts throughout the deck are impressive. The 46 Explorer is fitted out in a somewhat rustic fashion, with a single, relatively spartan double cabin. However, a number of customization options, such as the fabric enclosure for the flybridge enhance the level of comfort. According to the manufacturer, at 20 knots, fuel consumption is reduced by 30%, giving a range of over 200 miles. It's worth noting that despite the foiling design, the Vandal is still perfectly capable of taking the ground - you're either an explorer or you're not... A second 60-foot (18 m) model is currently under study. Full test of the Vandal 46 Explorer to appear in a forthcoming issue. ? Popcorn? Rice Krispies? Bacon frying?? Besides the sound of my regulator, the reef is a NOISY place! Yes, all those snaps and crackles are coming from the reef. The more complex the sound profile, the helathier the reef is beleived to be. Those sounds are coming from a variety of sources including snapping shrimp, fish grunts, starfish and urchin teeth as they grind against hard surfaces, and shell movement over coral. #islamujeres #scubadiving
