We are celebrating two massive milestones this weekend! Not only is it Memorial Day weekend, but it’s officially our 3-year anniversary as a sailing couple. To celebrate, we traded our usual dock for the historic, resilient shores of Galveston Beach, Texas. In this episode, we’re remembering the roots of the island and the holiday. From the solemn Civil War origins of Memorial Day to the Galveston Historic Pleasure Pier, this island is a monument to the human spirit. Of course, no trip to the coast is complete without savoring the lifestyle. Esse entrou em erupção em 1957, formando uma ponta adicional na ilha. Existia um farol que era a ponta mais avançada, mas depois desse vulcão ficou um pouco pra trás. Visitamos o museu e subimos no farol que já está desativado. Aqui ao pé do vulcão foi o montado o pórtico de chegada da corrida que falei anteriormente.
