Caribbean Sailing During Hurricane Season! â›ĩī¸â›ˆī¸đŸŒ¤ī¸ Sailing in the Caribbean during hurricane season means dealing with more frequent squalls compared to the dry season. The weather becomes inconsistent and even if the forecast looks good, you might encounter squalls on longer passages, with quite big waves in the acceleration zones between the islands. Pick the right weather window, these squalls are usually brief. Reef early and relax—sunshine will return in a few minutes. Sometimes though, tropical waves bring bad weather for a longer period of time. In those cases, it’s best to find a safe anchorage and wait it out. Weather planning is crucial during this season. Cheers guys, stay safe! â›ĩī¸â›ˆī¸â˜€ī¸ #weather #hurricaneseason #squall . #storm #sailing #badweather #bigwaves #ocean #offshoresailing #oceanwaves #sailorgirl #caribbeansailing #adventure #digitalnomad #nomadiclife #womenwhosail #nautical

Tow ropes can be super dangerous. You might think that a barge is self propelled and not notice the tow rope from the tug ahead. These are in the ocean as well as rivers and other waterways. It is an easy mistake to miss. Sometimes the ropes can be very long.
