► Cruise in Multihulls World Special Issue Power N21: https://www.multihulls-world.com/articles-catamaran-trimaran/ibiza-barcelona-300-nautical-miles-on-a-leen-56 ► Full test in Multihulls World Special issue N16: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/motor/leen-56-welcome-aboard-an-ocean-going-vessel ► 300 nm aboard one of the very rare motor trimarans on the market NEEL Trimarans, born in 2009, can claim to be the only manufacturer to offer large production trimarans - 30 units are produced every year. This new brand of powered trimarans called LEEN (a clever reflection of Neel, being named after the owner and founder of the yard, Eric Bruneel). The first model launched (before the 72 and now the very new the 51) is therefore the LEEN 56, characterized by the two floats significantly shorter at the bows compared to the central hull, and by a platform of large surface-area, topped by an imposing flybridge. The advantage of these new ocean-going multihulls is their very low drag: consumption will be limited to 2 liters (just over ½ US gal) per mile at cruising speed (9 knots). The diesel engine in the central hull can be supported by two electric pods - one in each hull - to facilitate maneuvering in port and for leaving an anchorage with the greatest discretion. We were able to sail aboard hull #2 for 300 miles from Ibiza to Barcelona. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Leen Trimarans Architects: Nivelt and Frutschi Overall length: 56’1” (17.10 m) Beam: 27’1” (8.25 m) Draft: 4’3” (1.30 m) Light displacement: 48,500 lbs (22 t) Water: 215 US gal (825 l) Fuel: 1,520 US gal (6,000 l) Motor: 305 HP Cruising speed: 9/10 knots Max speed: 11.5 knots Cabins: 3 to 6 CE Certification: A ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! 10000 kg in the air without a care. winter means storage on land! With a freshly bought boat, we have a long list of fixes and improvements we want to do in the coming two months. IIt's always a bit exciting when the marina people carry your boat out of the water. But they did a wonderful job!

🥨 How to tie the Bowline. A Super Easy method. You could call this "Spock's Bowline". ..... If you sometimes struggle with the bowline, which way to coil or twist the loop in, which side of the standing part to loop the working end round, blah, blah, blah, then try this method. It uses your hand as a "Bowline Guide"..it's logical Cap'n. .... Just make a 🖖"Vulcan Salute" with your hand and loop your working end once around your 3rd and 4th fingers. Clamp the loop and the standing part with these fingers. ... It works with either hand, we're showing the right hander's version. If you're a leftie, just do the mirror opposite. ... Then pass your line around the back of your hand and make the bowline as usual (up the hole, round the standing part, back down the hole). Just follow the shape of your hand as you go round . Works for me, anyway. .... Live Long and Prosper. ...
