Wahine vs. Typhoon Jangmi: Post-storm inspection complete! This wasn't her first rodeo, and she held up great. The only casualty was the old, worn-out bimini. We already planned to upgrade to a hard bimini, so Jigmai just accelerated our timeline! Best of all, all five solar panels survived unscathed which are needed for a potential crossing of the Pacific next year for Project Turtle Highway with Captain Mitsu. Here in San Diego, we’re lucky to enjoy year-round sailing, with our crew hitting the water 7 days a week, all 12 months of the year. Southern California’s weather during January, February, and March is hard to beat—lately, we’ve been enjoying sunny days with temperatures in the 60s and 70s. One of the most common questions we hear this time of year is: "Will I get cold on the water?" The truth is, San Diego’s winter weather isn’t all that different from fall or spring.   Captain Dave’s Tip: Bring an extra layer—like a windbreaker or jacket—to stay comfortable during your sail.
