Sailing out of Malta was supposed to be simple… until we realized we’d broken all three classic sailing rules in one go. Leaving on a Friday, bringing bananas on board, and, yes… supposedly no women on departure day. Do sailors still believe this stuff? Who knows — but it made for one unforgettable exit from Malta. Yep… we literally cut the back off our aluminum sailing catamaran 😅 As part of our major refit, we extended the sugarscoops — rebuilding the sterns completely from 4mm 5083 aluminum. The flat sheets were then pressed for the perfect shape, and welded back on — inside MIG welded and outside TIG welded. We couldn’t be happier with how they turned out!
