Reigning SailGP champions Emirates Great Britain scored the first win of the 2026 season with a victory at the Oracle Perth Sail Grand Prix. ▫️ The British outfit clocked a 100 per cent fly-time despite the meter-high waves Down Under. ▫️ BONDS Flying Roos (Aus) pulled out he stops for the sellout crowd, stealing second place from DS Team France in a photo finish in front of the SailGP Grandstands. Came across some striking colours of the sky and water, sailing on the River Blackwater - going past Stone & Ramsey Island. (Yes, it really looked like this - I didn't add any fancy filters).

Emozioni miste. Ci riflettevo oggi. Tutta l’attenzione l’hanno rubata orche e meteo. Nessuno a pensare a cosa ci stessimo lasciando alle spalle. Tutto è partito con grande trepidazione: la prima Gibilterra e il primo splash in Atlantico. Da lì è stato la nostra casa per un bel po’. Ci ha visti attraversare da Cadice alle Canarie. Dalle Canarie a Capo Verde. Da Capo Verde il grande salto ai Caraibi. È sempre stato educato, posato, tranquillo. Tranne agli arrivi. Ecco gli arrivi ce li ha movimentati parecchio, ma glielo concediamo. Abbiamo girato i Caraibi per mesi, aspettando la finestra migliore per rientrare. Così qualche giorno fa abbiamo riattraversato verso l’Europa. Azzorre, per la precisione. Da lì Madeira e domani sarà la volta delle sue porte: Gibilterra. Usciamo dall’Atlantico per rientrare nel Mediterraneo. L’aria di casa si fa più intensa, più nitida. Tornare è emozionante e al tempo stesso un’enigma. Sapremo riadattarci alla terra? Alla città? Un caro amico oggi mi ha scritto che un viaggio non è tale se non prevede un ritorno a casa che ti faccia assaporare con più gusto ogni cosa. Penso sia proprio così. Tornare vorrà dire riprendere contatto con la vita di prima ma da persone nuove, completamente diverse. Che poi tornare… quanto durerà?… qui a bordo ci sono già dei piani…. Ma questa è un’altra storia. Ora siamo qui, a goderci l’ultima notte in queste onde lunghe che ci sollevano e riappoggiano delicatamente. Con loro procediamo decisi con la prua sullo stretto. Domani sarà un’altra giornata di emozioni forti♥️ meglio riposare! Buona notte a tutti e a domani Andrea

Have you seen my latest full video yet? We met some amazing creatures - Sunflower Sea Stars - that perform a vital job balancing the ocean ecosystem on the Pacific Coast. Sadly, they’ve been almost wiped out by a vicious disease, and as a result, sea urchin populations have spiked (get it?), causing widespread destruction of kelp forests - the precious nurseries of the ocean. The Sunflower Star Laboratory is doing amazing work breeding Sunflower Sea Stars, researching Sea Star Wasting Disease, and working towards reintroduction and restoration.
