We sail on the good ship Saracen, a Beneteau Oceanis 473 from 2006. Out journey started in Scotland in early 2023 and our ultimate goal is to sail around the globe …..slowly. We make these videos mostly for family and friends and to create a record of our adventures for ourselves so that we can look back at them later in life, were not in it to make money (way to hard). Giorno 22 - TIRRENO Avete presente l’acerrima nemica di ieri sera per cui pensavamo di essere allenati? Bene. È stata peggio del previsto. L’onda lunga di mare morto creato dal vento dei giorni scorsi ci ha sballottati fino alle 2:30, ora in cui in preda allo sfinimento, per l’ennesima volta, abbiamo deciso di tirare su l’ancora e partire prematuramente. E così, alle 2:45, ci rimettiamo in marcia. Un po’ assonnati. Il motore romba a pieno regime, il vento è sul naso. Mancano 50 miglia. Al timone Cami, io riposo un po’. Arrivano le prime luci e mi alzo, le do il cambio. Devo dire che in questi quattro anni ha preso padronanza al punto da riuscire a dormire sereno e senza timori. Un tesoro prezioso per quando si devono macinare miglia. Le ore passano abbastanza monotone fino al momento in cui quella codina ballerina del windex decide di uscire dalle due alette. Cosa significa? Che si può andare a vela! Apriamo randa e Genoa e spegniamo finalmente il motore per la gioia del cuore e delle orecchie e per la tristezza dei benzinai😂 La barca vola. Non ricordo prestazioni così buone: 10 nodi di vento, 8 di avanzamento. Per una barca da crociera è ottimo! Vele a segno, condizioni ideali. Corriamo, galoppiamo, divoriamo terreno verso Palermo. Alle 14:30 ormeggiamo. Vado io all’ancora e lascio Cami al timone. Facciamo manovra, un po’ di retro finché non ci assicuriamo che l’ancora abbia fatto testa e ci tuffiamo in acqua. La giornata passa leggera, sono arrivati anche due poliziotti in moto d’acqua a fare due chiacchiere serene e accoglienti. La stanchezza è Comunque la protagonista della giornata vista la carenza di sonno. Si fa sera in fretta e noi ci godiamo una cenetta con il candido calore di una magliona felpata: la stagione dell’afa e dell’umidità appiccicosa è finita. Il tempo passa, le miglia aumentano, il viaggio diventa sempre più ricco di vita. Andrea
