The Nautitech 46 Open is known for its sailing performance and cruising comfort to which we can abide. The boat was therefore equipped accordingly and is totally off the grid. It is self-sufficient in electricity with 2400 W new solar panels, 900 amp Lithium batteries, with a 5000 W Victron quattro inverter/charger. All the running rigging goes back to the cockpit enabling sailing single handedly and safety at sea. A new radar and the large 12 inch chart plotter was installed in June 2023 which simplifies navigation. The new 25 hp outboarder provides for exploration at sea and fun water activities in the 340 UL Highfield dinghy. He had accommodations set up for us for the evening or two that we spent kind of getting to getting uh getting our stuff situated before we went drove all the way up to the boat. He took us all the way up to Punat by Kirk and we were able to get us rooms there set up. We got onto the boat. He helped us do a quick walk through on the boat. Get familiar with everything. Find anything. Any other questions that we had. So then we did a bunch of maintenance and a bunch of cleanup and he really just walked us through each step. Of hey let's check this out. Oh I don't really like that. Let's work. Marine store runs. Shopping. Provisioning. We wanted to do all that with him. So he went with us and kind of pointed out. A shorty peek at removing an emergency boat repair patch on our steel motorsailer Alaskan Gypsy. Armed with a hammer and chisel, I take on a temporary fix made of Z-Spar Splash Zone epoxy, 3M 5200 marine adhesive, a rubber gasket, and an aluminum backing plate.
