The Double Sheet Bend is one of if not the best way to join to ropes of different diameter. You can learn how to tie a double sheet bend in less than two minutes. Here at Bottom Up Boat we prefer the Double Sheet Bend over the Single Sheet bend, the two loops around the bight give it key advantages over the single sheet bend. The two loops make the knot more secure before the knot has been put under load and easier to untie as the double loops cause the knot to tighten on the bight rather than the loop wedging itself at the top of the bend. A productive day on the sailboat. The permanent solution to the bilge pump issue where I bypassed the old switch, and a temporary solution to the failed shore-power battery charger. I will have to work on the permanent battery charging solution. I need a flexible charger that works from plugged-in shore power, and the future solar array. Does anyone have any recommendations? Now it is Happy Hour in the sun of the cockpit with Cara. She is adjusting well to life on the boat. There are so many places for us to explore around the marina. She goes for walks and beach romps multiple times a day. But mostly, she is content to just hang out with us and bask in the sunlight. #sailboatrestoration #livingonasailboat
