The North Sound is a reef-protected lagoon ringed by Bitter End, Saba Rock and Leverick Bay. You enter between the reefs into flat, protected water, which is why it is the best-known overnight harbor in the territory - ask a BVI captain for a favorite anchorage and this is the answer we hear most. The mooring balls sit between Bitter End and Saba Rock, so dinner ashore is a tender ride rather than a passage. Two evenings, two different shores, and the boat stays on the same mooring for both. Our brokers build that still night into the week on purpose. The sound stays calm after dark, which is exactly why the second night here works with no repositioning.
