Today we took the apprentices on a day out to visit The Sutton Hoo ship replica, an Anglo-Saxon ship which was buried in the 7th century and is now being replicated thanks to the amazingly talented restorers at The Sutton Hoo Ship Company in Woodbridge, Suffolk. Aboard Wanderlust… a 2018 Beneteau Oceanis 38.1.  With the true winds at 11 knots, Wanderlust was comfortable and fairly stable, doing 8 knots beating. I completely missed Vinny’s high five.

OCC members, Fred and Sandy onboard their catamaran Dakota Dream, were anchored at Antigua when this happened to their generator. It seems someone forgot to turn off the hot-wired raw water pump for their Northern Lights M673, 6 kw generator when they left the boat for Happy Hour. Upon returning to their boat, they realized the problem and shut down the still running raw water pump, too late. The generator was hydro-locked. This is what happens when an injector is removed to get raw water out of the cylinders. Ouch! Diesel and salt water sprays everywhere!!!
