Propane-powered outboard maker Lehr has introduced what I think is the first outboard motor with self-contained electric starting. An optional feature of its new propane-powered, LP9.9 model, the motor carries its starting battery under the cowl, rather than in the boat. One of our first projects involving sailing was back in May when we approached Irish Offshore Sailing to help them with a short promotional video. Unfortunately the only day which we could film on due to time constraints happened to have next to no wind. We headed out anyhow and put together a short video before they headed off on the Volvo Round Ireland Race later that month.
