Jack Roy joined the board of Irish Sailing in 2013 and was President from 2017 to 2020. During this time he led with great talent and dedication, and always with a sense of fun and humour. The extent of his influence and popularity is shown in the tributes received by Irish Sailing from people around the world who worked with him during his presidency. Jack finished his presidency during COVID lockdown when face to face celebrations were restricted, so we marked the occasion by publishing his last speech and a slideshow of his time as Irish Sailing President. The so-called Lazy River is about 7nm from George Town. We visited this special spot twice. The second time, we essentially had the entire beach to ourselves for most of the day. It's very pretty and, IMHO, a must visit if you make it down to George Town and the Moriah Harbor National Park.
