Peter Harburg’s 100 foot Reichel Pugh supermaxi Black Jack left McConaghy Boat’s shed in Gosford showing her modified hull and new features. While heading down the coast, we were taken by surprise by calls on the VHF regarding a Prohibited Zone around Cape Canaveral. Apparently, we were scheduled to hit Cape Canaveral right at the same time they closed down the zones for transit. What!? What were the zones? Where were the zones? Were we in one!? We ultimately determined, using Starlink!!!, where the zones were and that ultimately we were fine...but, this was after we turned around 180º and added another 2-hours to our trip south. Oh Well.
