Si l’alizé ne s’est pas montré très vigoureux, réduisant à portion congrue les régates à la voile au profit de convoyages au moteur, la bonne humeur était bien au rendez-vous. L’objectif des Echappées Belles est d’ailleurs avant tout de passer un moment convivial, de s’amuser sur l’eau, de profiter de belles escales tout en rencontrant de nouveaux équipages, de découvrir des spécialités locales et de partager des anecdotes, des histoires de mer. Matt and Lisa make the tough decision to Sail away from Key West, in the aftermath of hurricane Ian. Key West experienced it’s fair share of death and destruction during the storm, and with another storm possibly following the same path in nine days, the crew decided to start their adventure two months earlier than planned. The five day sail up to mainland was filled with poor weather, big waves, and little sleep. Once they arrive in Fort Lauderdale, they quickly work to get the sailboat stocked with food, fuel, and anything else they will need for their international travels.
