Here is a local Ski Patroller, Chris Austin, reviewing his Kindred skis. He gave us some of his time during a precious day off. Alpine Resort Operations are carried out by teams of passionate people who work together in a complex system. We think that patrollers are the heart of that system. We all ski and snowboard at resorts with more peace of mind knowing there are people to help if anything goes wrong. These folks do it for the love of the sport and take time away from powder days to assist people who are lost or injured. Luckily, when Ev broke his leg a few years ago Chris was his attending patroller. So many of the decisions Chris made that day helped to reduce Evan's suffering and ensure the most positive long term outcome from a crazy injury. It's good to know that Chris' Kindred skis play a small part in facilitating the excellent work he does. Thanks Chris! Thanks to Ivan from Visual Inclination for capturing these interviews: https://visualinclination.com/ Canadian Ski Patrol: https://www.skipatrol.ca/

The Maxi 95 was designed to accommodate a family safely and comfortably and also to sail well, the design realised all three goals. Production started in 1972 and continued into the 1980s with incremental improvements occurring each year. Manufacturing was based on the west coast of Sweden and around Lake Vnern which lies 100 km north east from the city of Gothenburg (additional descriptions can be found in our translation of the original Owners Manual). As fibreglass was a new material for boat construction, the moldings were made much thicker (and stronger) than todays productions. Osmosis is rather unknown to most yachts from that era when extra catalyst was added for extra strength. This means that the 20 year old Maxi boats are still structurally strong and ready to continue. Engines and other accessories may wear out and need replacement but the hulls continue to serve well.

A couple of weeks ago, we swapped the yard for the waves and took our two apprentices out for some high-speed powerboat training aboard our Humber Destroyer RIB. 🛥️💨 Not only did they smash the start of their training, there was a bonus; as we cruised out towards Clacton, we stumbled right into the start of the legendary Clacton Airshow — and who should roar into view but the RAF Red Arrows, painting the sky with their signature smoke trails! ✈️💥 Training with a side of adrenaline and aviation magic!
