► A not-to-be-missed event for boating enthusiasts on the U.S. East Coast, the Annapolis Boat Shows attract some 100,000 visitors every year. The event is in fact two separate boat shows held in the same spot, but a week apart. The Powerboat Show, dedicated just to powerboats (417 units on display), was held from October 3 to 6, followed by the Sailboat Show from October 10 to 14. It’s the latter of the two that we’ve selected for you. The event provided an opportunity to take stock of how the multihull sector is taking hold in the United States: we counted 56 two- or three-hull units compared with 96 monohulls, totaling nearly 30% of the offer. You must get lifted out if you want to visit the island by boat. You cannot anchor out. They have 15 mooring balls available. $30 NZ per day. They can accommodate vessels up to 52 feet. if your vessel is larger than that, you can request a double block. Even your dinghy needs to be lifted out when going ashore. You can contact the Niue Yacht Club to reserve a mooring ball. +683 4224 Email: info.center@gov.nu All the local fishermen, dive groups, whale watching boats etc. all get lifted in & out each time.
