With the wind blowing into the slip channel and the boat docked stern-to, the key is to use the wind instead of fighting it. Motor forward out of the slip and immediately turn the bow downwind. Let the wind help swing the boat around until you’re aligned with the slip channel. Once aligned, shift into reverse and back down the slip channel, continuing well into the main channel before turning. This gives you more room, keeps the maneuver controlled, and avoids trying to turn in a confined space while the wind is pushing you back toward the slips. Keep a careful lookout for traffic as you enter the main channel. #sailingschool #sailboat #sailor #sailinglife
