But when it comes to lapping the planet against the prevailing winds and currents, non-stop and alone the list stops way short of double figures. Last Christmas, solo sailor Guirec Soudée left France to set a new record and add his name to the gang, but his campaign took a very different approach. Instead of choosing a sturdy metal hulled monohull, Soudée and his team decided to take on the world in reverse with a fragile Ultim trimaran.

Deux marins ont été hospitalisés, les autres équipiers sont indemnes. Les deux équipes déclarent forfait pour la suite de l'étape d'Auckland.
