We sail to a remote atoll called Maupiha'a in French polynesia to help the locals build a thatch roof, and what an experience that was!! SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged Lagoon 450 catamaran, which Colin rebuilt with friends and has started sailing around the world. We found bulkhead damage on their catamaran in Panama, so have fixed her up, and are now sailing across the Pacific Ocean!! I get asked this question all the time. What does it mean when a boat is being advertised as, "Not for Sale to US Citizens while in US Waters?" It simply means that the boat has not been imported into the United States. There are three things that can happen to make it legally purchase a boat that is not US Duty Paid. 1) The seller can pay the duty and import it into the United States 2) The seller can move the boat into a Duty Free Zone, and the closing can occur there 3) The seller can move the vessel outside of the stream of commerce, and into a foreign country. If you have any questions on buying/selling a catamaran please don't hesitate to keep them coming. Wiley Sharp Wiley@CatamaranCentral.com www.CatamaranCentral.com
