When sailing through a channel that splits, knowing which way to go is critical. That’s where preferred channel markers come in. These buoys are marked with both red and green colors, with one color dominant — showing which side of the channel is preferred. 🌍 Region A: Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, the Gulf, and some Asian countries 🌏 Region B: North, Central & South America, Japan, North & South Korea, and the Philippines In Region A, “green to starboard” keeps you safe. In the end, the general success of this transatlantic -supervised rally and the ever more pressing demand from owners of catamarans and trimarans led the World Cruising Club to organize a second rally – the ARC + –, then a third – the ARC January.
