Schön, dass du hier bist! Wir, Emely und Tjark, haben uns den Traum vom eigenen Segelboot erfüllt, eine Maxi84, relativ spontan und ohne das ganz große Geld. Das Boot müssen wir noch umtaufen auf den Namen Meera. Wir nehmen dich mit auf unsere Reise von blutigen Anfängern zu hoffentlich passablen Seglern. Bevor wir uns in die Wellen stürzen können, liegt noch ein Berg an Arbeit vor uns. Umbauten, Änderungen und vor allem der Sportbootführerschein müssen erledigt werden. Hurricane unveiled its new SunDeck 2690 model at the Miami International Boat Show, and this wide-beam family boat will be the brand's new flagship. Hurricane arguably invented the deck boat concept back in 1974 with a craft that placed a wide-open pontoon-style deck over a fiberglass hull. This hybrid offered the planing performance of a runabout with the elbow room of pontoon boats. Most of today's deck boats look more like a runabout, and the SunDeck 2690 is no exception, with its gracefully descending shear line and wrap-around windshield. It's the broad bow, which maximizes space forward, that sets this big deck boat apart from bowriders in this size range.
