Yep… we literally cut the back off our aluminum sailing catamaran 😅 As part of our major refit, we extended the sugarscoops — rebuilding the sterns completely from 4mm 5083 aluminum. The flat sheets were then pressed for the perfect shape, and welded back on — inside MIG welded and outside TIG welded. We couldn’t be happier with how they turned out! Refit glow-up time! 🔥 In the final week of our sailboat refit, we gave our aluminum catamaran a whole new look — complete with a brand-new burgundy boot stripe to match our fresh color theme. After scuffing, cleaning, and prepping the hull, we sprayed on soapy water, grabbed a squeegee, and got to work applying the new stripe. A little teamwork and… WOW! What a transformation!
