This video illustrates the force of the wind while on a close hauled/close reach with one reef in the main and 2/3 of the Genoa out in 17 knots of wind with 23 knot gusts. Our speed over ground last week ranged from a comfortable 6.5 knots to 12.5 knots. As you may know, the Lagoon 450 is well known for its capability to sail in low wind and down wind. We also realized the 450's ability to provide a controlled and comfortable “banging up wind” experience during our 21 day trip around the BVIs.

Trois-mâts emblématique du patrimoine maritime français, le Belem a célèbré en 2026 ses 130 ans avec une aventure exceptionnelle : embarquer 130 jeunes pour leur faire vivre une expérience inoubliable au cœur de la mer. Mis à l’eau en 1896, ce voilier mythique a traversé les époques, les océans et les générations. Aujourd’hui, il continue de faire rêver et de transmettre les valeurs de la navigation, de la solidarité et du dépassement de soi. Pour cet anniversaire hors du commun, ces 130 jeunes ont l’occasion de découvrir la vie à bord d’un grand voilier, de participer aux manœuvres et de partager le quotidien des marins. Une immersion dans l’univers maritime, entre apprentissage, aventure humaine et esprit d’équipage.
