was built in 1994 as a 103 ft (34-meter) yacht. It was lengthened in 2009 to 143ft. It is built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure. Leight Star offers guest accommodation for up to 12 guests in 6 suites comprising a master suite, one VIP cabin, three double cabins and one twin cabin. There are 7 beds in total, including 1 king, 4 queen and 2 singles. The Leight Star boat is known for carrying a helicopter, with is relatively large for the size of the vessel. With over 100 boats on the start line everyone was fighting for air shortly after the start, with the tide coming in all day it paid to get right early to find both clear air and some relief from the stronger tide out in the main channel.
