► A not-to-be-missed event for boating enthusiasts on the U.S. East Coast, the Annapolis Boat Shows attract some 100,000 visitors every year. The event is in fact two separate boat shows held in the same spot, but a week apart. The Powerboat Show, dedicated just to powerboats (417 units on display), was held from October 3 to 6, followed by the Sailboat Show from October 10 to 14. It’s the latter of the two that we’ve selected for you. The event provided an opportunity to take stock of how the multihull sector is taking hold in the United States: we counted 56 two- or three-hull units compared with 96 monohulls, totaling nearly 30% of the offer. The Harmony of the Seas is one of the world's largest passenger ships, with a gross tonnage of almost 227,000 and a length of 362.12 meters. Capacity The ship can accommodate over 8,880 passengers and crew, with 2,747 staterooms. Features The ship has a variety of attractions, including a dry slide complex, surf simulators, water slides, swimming pools, rock climbing walls, and a miniature golf course. It also has a 1,400-seat theater, 20 dining venues, and 11,252 works of art.
