The first week for the season ending frosties regatta at SLYC was sailed under grey skies with big breeze. The crew on GTR went with a reef in the main to make the boat easier to control with the wind gusting over 20 knots. The mainsheet main and job trimmer really got in sync up the second beat which allowed the skipper to put the bow done and get the boat speed over 7 knots. The team on GTR showed the rest of the fleet a clean pair of heels to take two bullets to get off to a flying start on race day 1. 🪢 Sunday Boat Tip [7/52] 🪢 Our gas oven only has heating from below, and when first moving onboard cooking in it was a real struggle! The food got badly burnt on the underside and was often undercooked on the topside, resulting in really bad cooking 🧑‍🍳 But since we got this advice during our first winter as liveaboards our cooking game has improved so much! So, now it’s time for us to pass the knowledge forward. If you have a gas oven with no top heating, you must try this!
