This was a very special encounter with a beautiful eagle ray sifting through the sand for a tasty meal. As bottom feeders, eagle rays hunt for prey on the seafloor. Like stingrays, their mouths are on the underside of their bodies. However, they also have a protruding snout full of electro-sensory pores that work as a kind of food radar. Eagle rays are carnivores with specialized flat teeth designed for grinding and crushing crustaceans and molluscs. However, they aren't fussy eaters and will also chow down on worms, small fish and even octopuses. Giorno 276 di questo viaggio intorno al mondo La vita è fatta di respiri. Le onde lo insegnano continuamente. Up & down. Momento lassù, all’apice del mondo, dove tutto funziona, il lavoro va bene, l’azienda fattura, c’è serenità in famiglia e ti sembra possibile perfino sfiorare una cometa. Respiro. Un crollo al lavoro, una tempesta improvvisa, un maltempo non previsto. Respiro. Cercare di stare in cima alla torre dorata è un tentativo inutile. Solo scendere ci fa capire quanto sia bello il panorama lassù. Così la vita in porto ci ricorda quanto amiamo il mare, le sue onde, i suoi insegnamenti, il suo blu. Fortunatamente questa è una discesa attenuata:) Solo il vento dal Portogallo ci tiene bloccati qui. Aspettiamo e lavoriamo. Esploriamo e ci amiamo. Che per quello, c’è sempre tempo. ♥️
