While juveniles begin life with eyes on both sides of their body, the Peacock Flounder’s right eye migrates towards the left as they mature, leaving both eyes on one side looking to the sky. Pretty amazing for a fish that camouflages seamlessly with his perch, which he can not see below him, yet if blind or if his eye is damaged he will struggle to camouflage with his surround.
