Sailboat Upgrade: Replacing Reef Lines in Boom. As new sailors, we are finishing off some sailboat upgrades and maintenance, to get ready for the waters of the San Juan Islands at the first of June. We have just replaced the Reefing Lines in our Boom. We have only two reefing points: A normal first Reef and a Deep Second Reef. We decided it was a simpler solution for us---versus adding another line. The Melonseed Regatta at Mystery Bay was the first invitational event for Gig Harbor Boat Works boat owners. GHBW invited Melonseed owners to join up, meet one another and sail their boats together on a gorgeous summer day. It was quite a success and we hope to have more meetups in the future!
