I bought this gear for emergency use only. In case my prop gets entangled again. The first time it happened it was nearly catastrophic as the sudden stop of the prop from the entangled next sent a vibration and micro debris up the shaft to the dripless seal and the boat began to leak .. . which I was not aware of until I woke up after a nap having being pulled to port by the coast guard and the water was now above the floorboards. The 70th-anniversary race to Apollo Bay started on time at 6am in 15 knots of wind from the NW. It was MRV that lead the fleet from the start and who were first through the heads. Ginan, Arcadia, Hot Chipps, How Bizarre, Cadibarra, Jaffa and Shimmer are all closely following. The winds are predicted to hold all day making for a fast race and quick race. With all boats safely through the heads, we have Blue Water Tracks providing a quick on water update. Video: Grant Dunoon
