One of our NSSC Sailability members, Jazz Turner, featured on BBC South East Today evening news on leaving Brighton Marina at the start of her epic Project FEAR ("face everything and rise") journey. She is attempting to become the first female wheelchair user to complete a solo, non-stop, unassisted circumnavigation of the UK and Ireland. Jazz is raising money for the Newhaven and Seaford Sailing Club (NSSC) Sailability fund. S/V Karayato is a 2004 TRT 1200, for sale by owner. She is a Norwegian designed performance catamaran. This boat was modified at the yard by the previous owner to be more suitable as a liveaboard than the original TRT 1200 design. The bridge deck is lowered to make room for a spacious deck house with galley, a sofa that sits eight and a navigation station. The mast and rig is from 2013. The furling system, genoa and mainsail were bought new in 2019 and the jib is from 2022 . Karayato is quick, strong and a lot of fun to sail.
