In early November, the Amels and Damen team enjoyed a busy show, welcoming visitors on board GENE MACHINE, a 55-metre Amels 180 (180 ft) from our Limited Editions range, and AXIS, a 55-metre Damen Yacht Support vessel (181 ft). GENE MACHINE’s American owner kindly agreed to showcase the 55-metre Amels 180 (180 ft) as a fantastic example of our Limited Editions range. Although not for sale or charter, sharing unforgettable moments and relishing the free spirit of yachting has made GENE MACHINE one of the world’s best known superyachts. Her amazing crew turned on the charm with their infectious fun-loving energy and welcoming service. Follow their adventures on Instagram. A YS 5009 delivered in 2016, AXIS carries a Triton submarine, an Icon sport aircraft, tenders and all the toys with jetskis and sailboats. Her Captain and crew proved not only highly knowledgeable in all things under, on and above the water, but they also make a mean spare rib BBQ. Damen co-exhibited AXIS together with Ocean Independence.

Las jarcias firmes deben cambiarse en los barcos de vela a los diez años de uso. Su gran problema es el óxido que puede provocar la rotura de los terminales y la consecuente desarboladura del mástil. Esto es muy peligroso, ya que puede herir gravemente a los tripulantes. En esta ocasión le ha tocado al barco de Julio. Además de la jarcia, toca reparar a fondo tanto el enrollador de proa como el de popa.
