At one point, we noticed the anchor light wasn’t working. Apparently, after six years the battery was dead. We were able to buy a spare anchor light, and I went up the mast to replace it. The first time, we thought it would be easy—just replace the light or the battery—but it turned out that more work was needed. The anchor light had to be unscrewed and the two wires had to be reconnected in the terminal block. And all of that at 22 meters up, right on top of the mast. After some instructions from Gilles, I went up the mast again, this time bringing tools along in the side pockets of the “chair” (bosun’s chair) in which you’re hoisted up. It worked, and the anchor light was shining brightly again at the top of the mast!

At the Perth Boat Show, PG compares a standard swim ladder with Gineico Marine’s telescopic ladder system featuring retractable pop-up handles. The difference becomes especially noticeable at the top of the ladder. Without a secure handhold, climbing back onto the deck can be awkward, particularly in moving water or for anyone with reduced strength or mobility. With the pop-up handles deployed, you have something secure to hold onto as you transition from the ladder back onto the boat, making getting in and out of the water easier and more comfortable. And it is not only an option for new boats. Gineico Marine offers models that can be retrofitted to existing vessels, providing a practical upgrade for families, swimmers and anyone looking to improve access and safety onboard. Come and speak with the team at the Perth Boat Show about the right ladder configuration for your boat. https://zurl.co/ys3aG #GineicoMarine #PerthBoatShow #MarineHardware #SwimLadder #BoatUpgrade #BoatRefit #MarineSafety #MarineEquipment #BoatingAustralia #AustralianMarineIndustry #BoatLife
