It’s finally time to cross the Atlantic. All the lights are green, Tiboulen hoists the sails as it leaves the port of Mindelo, sailing alongside three other Jeanneau boats from different generations. ⛵ For most of the crossing, Sail for Tomorrow were on the same tack (port tack at 150° to the wind), with the same sail configuration (wing-on-wing, genoa poled out), and more or less the same speed (5.7 knots on average). The crew experienced some incredible moments during this crossing. Fishing was a highlight, halfway through, they crossed paths with one of the three Jeanneau sailing boats. Schön, dass du hier bist! Wir, Emely und Tjark, haben uns den Traum vom eigenen Segelboot erfüllt, eine Maxi84, relativ spontan und ohne das ganz große Geld. Das Boot müssen wir noch umtaufen auf den Namen Meera. Wir nehmen dich mit auf unsere Reise von blutigen Anfängern zu hoffentlich passablen Seglern. Bevor wir uns in die Wellen stürzen können, liegt noch ein Berg an Arbeit vor uns. Umbauten, Änderungen und vor allem der Sportbootführerschein müssen erledigt werden. En este ocasión, atracamos con el Luna de Nergha, una Fairline Phanthom 42 equipada con dos motores Volvo Penta de 400HP. Si las palas superiores de las hélices giran hacia fuera cuando están avante, se produce la maniobra perfecta, ya que todos los vectores de fuerza creados se unen para conseguir nuestro propósito cualquiera que sea.
