Croatian Chill: Sun-Soaked Serenity Sailing the Adriatic The sun beats down, a gentle rhythm lapping against the hull. A cool breeze whispers through the sails, carrying the scent of salt and distant pine. This isn't a dream, it's just another perfect afternoon sailing along the stunning Dalmatian Coast of Croatia. Forget the regattas and competitive races, here we're all about embracing the "chill" factor. Croatia's calm turquoise waters and countless hidden coves are an invitation to slow down, soak up the sun, and truly disconnect. The Soundtrack of Serenity Our days are filled with the simple pleasures. The morning starts with the gentle clinking of mugs as we brew coffee on deck, the aroma swirling with the sea air. The only deadlines are those dictated by the sun, prompting us to shift our position for optimal tanning (important business, you know!). As the day progresses, the soundtrack is a beautiful symphony of nature: the rhythmic whoosh of the sails, the occasional playful plop of a dolphin breaching the surface, and the calming lull of the waves. Island Hopping Bliss Our itinerary is delightfully loose. We spend mornings exploring quaint villages nestled on islands like Hvar and Vis, their stone houses cascading down to the water's edge. Afternoons are for dropping anchor in secluded coves, hidden like precious gems along the coastline. The crystal-clear water beckons us in for swims that feel like diving into an aquarium. We snorkel over vibrant coral reefs teeming with life, or simply float on our backs, gazing up at the endless blue canvas. Culinary Delights Await Evenings are a celebration of fresh, local flavors. We pull into charming harbor towns and savor delicious seafood dishes at water's edge tavernas. Laughter mingles with the clinking of glasses as we toast to another unforgettable day in paradise. Sunsets that Steal the Show As the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky in fiery hues of orange and pink, a sense of tranquility washes over us. We gather on deck, sharing stories and dreams under a canopy of stars that seem impossibly close. Sailing in Croatia isn't just about the destination, it's about the journey. It's about slowing down, appreciating the simple things, and reconnecting with ourselves and the beauty that surrounds us. It's about finding your own little slice of Croatian chill.

The Agincourt ribbon Reefs had a second coral spawning and it was magical. At the Quicksilver platform at Agincourt 3, our Marine Biologist, Russell Hore predicted the December coral spawn would be more spectacular, as the waters had been cooler in the lead up to the November spawn. Russell Hore, Quicksilver Reef Biosearch Manager said “While the Agincourt Reefs experienced a coral spawning in November, we always believed that the main coral spawn would happen after the full moon in December.“ Two of Quicksilver Reef Biosearch marine biologists, Dr Glen Burns and Graham Carroll, spent the night on Agincourt 3 last night (16 Dec), hopeful that the corals would spawn. “The current water temperature on the edge of the outer reefs was perfect for coral spawning, so we were pretty confident.” And better they were, with one of the better coral spawning events witnessed in the last decade. “We witnessed the branching staghorn coral, shrubby corals and a magnificent plate coral spawning. We were privileged to record this once yearly event at Agincourt Reef.” said Dr Burns The spawning is likely to continue for the next two nights.
