Sibenik Old Town - well known as the first town to be founded by the Croatian people, Sibenik Old Town features the impressive St. James cathedral that has UNESCO World Heritage protection. Get lost in the maze of cobbled streets or climb the cathedral for views out over the sea. 4. Hvar Old Town - this bustling town has the largest Town Square in all of Dalmatia and features a maze of cobbled alleyways, narrow streets, and authentic Dalmatian restaurants. The Spanjola Fortress towers over the town of Hvar and provides impressive views. 5. Split Old Town - Diocletian's Palace forms the basis of the Old Town in Split, and was built some 1,700 years ago between the 3rd and 4th Centuries. As one of the best-preserved examples of Roman architecture, Diocletian's Palace is a must for exploring Croatian old-world charm. 6. Korcula Old Town - Korcula's fortified Old Town features bell towers, turrets, winding streets, and an eclectic mix of restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops. As the rumoured birthplace of Marco Polo, Korcula Old Town has a mysterious and energetic vibe.
