141-metre converted superyacht YAS from above Originally built in 1981 by the Koninklijke Schelde shipyard for the Royal Dutch Navy, tshe began her life as the frigate HNLMS Piet Hein (F 811). After more than twenty years in active naval service, she was sold to the United Arab Emirates in 1998 and renamed Al Emarat (F 02), continuing her military duties until her retirement in 2006. Following her decommissioning, the ship embarked on a transformation at ADM Shipyards in Abu Dhabi that was completed in 2015, emerging as Yas, a 5,002 GT superyacht distinguished by her dolphin-inspired profile and futuristic glass-domed superstructure conceived by Pierrejean Design Studio. Kythira is an island that belongs to the Ionian Islands but is geographically located south of the Peloponnese and Crete, at the entrance to the Aegean Sea. This strategic position has historically made Kythira an important maritime hub. Over the centuries, the island has been influenced by various cultures, including the Byzantine, Venetian, and Ottoman civilizations. Kythira is known for its unspoiled nature, picturesque villages, Venetian castles, and stunning beaches with crystal-clear waters. We have moored at the quay of Kapsali Bay, which features a beautiful sandy beach and the characteristic white-and-blue houses of Greece. Here, I recorded a video overlooking the bay, with our catamaran as the only vessel in the bay.
