Les Optimists Erplast répondent à la jauge Loda 95 et participent ainsi à de grandes compétitions internationales depuis 1998. En 2009, Erplast reprend les marques New Cat et KL Catamarans devenant ainsi un acteur incontournable dans le monde de la voile légère. L'entreprise présente en 2012 son nouvel Optimist en polyéthylène rotomoulé, l'Optikid.
