As with most long open ocean passages it’s never a certainty as to when we’ll actually leave. There is currently a very small weather window and it’s looking like we’ll leave Tuesday night (2 days from now). In the mean time, the crew and I are servicing, cleaning, maintaining, organizing, and preparing ourselves and the boat. The plan is to get to Bermuda (3-4 days) and then after a few days sail south to St Martin I’m the Caribbean (5-6 days). Some days are loud… but this one wasn’t. This one was perfect. A slow start on the boat, followed by joining the Buren Bay community to clean the beach, a healthy lunch at Yadon Care at the tip of Uken Inlet, and a gentle sunset that seemed to say, “Well done today.” It reminds me that the smallest moments, solo silence, shared work, healthy food, quiet sunset, end up feeling like the big ones.
