In February 2019 we replaced our Jeanneau 379s Batida and Manhattan with two brand new Beneteau 381s. We have continued with the cocktail theme and named them Palomar and Sazerac. These new yachts are fractionally bigger in length than the Jeanneau 379’s. However the carry their chine almost all the way to the bow, consequently there is a noticeable amount of extra space both below and in the cockpit. The boats have two wheels, Raymarine Axiom Chart Plotter, Raymarine Quantum Radar, AIS and heating. In fact everything you would expect a modern yacht to have! In early October, our skipper traveled to Grenada to tour our new boat, a 2008 Knysna 440. It was love at first sight. This bluewater catamaran was built in South Africa, and she is fully loaded and ready to sail. This is the trailer for our new Youtube channel. As we pack up and prepare to move aboard, we will be filming and eventually sharing it all with you. So stick around and experience Sailing Life on Mars. The Mumm 36 - Go To Red made some magical memories for the Bottom Up Boats crew. The boat really came alive whenever we could get the A-Sail up in a bit of pressure. The boat was touching 10 knots of boats speed in gust up to 16 knots on the beautiful sunny day on Strangford Lough in Northern Ireland. Flat water and breeze really aloud the Mumm 36 to get her bow out of the water and jump up on the plane. The it was perfect condition for the yacht with the crew working together to ensure the sails were trimmed to perfection to keep the boat flat while reaching as the tighten up to make the bottom mark. The team at bottom up boats hope you enjoyed this Mumm 36 Memory, where you can become a skipper for a minute by coming onboard Go to Red. Go to Red was a great boat which creation many memories which the crew and hopefully you look back on fondly for many years to come.
