Race 2 of the Quoile Yacht Club springs series followed shortly after Race 1, the sun finally burnt of the morning fog to deliver a fantastic afternoon for racing. The two J109's GTR and Jammie Dogger were only meters apart as the lined up for a downwind start out of the head of the Quoile river. Jammie Dogger had windward position on the line but GTR managed to put their kite first while enabled to shoot out from the leeward position, getting to the increasing breeze first which allowed them to stretch out an early lead on the way to Mark 3. Going to Red was setup perfectly on the long beat to Mark 11 with the Jib angle in tight she raced fast and high on the flat water. After winning the second start in a row they did not look back, increasing they lead at every mark to take race 2 of the QYC spring series. 13:00 hours August 28, 2011. The engine is running to recharge the battery. I'm in the cabin and only find the corner of one cushion is wet. Everything else is in great shape. Nothing broken. Only a wet cushion. The exterior of the boat is good and The Force, our dinghy, is just where we left her. Winds probably didn't get higher than 50 mph our mettle wasn't tested to the max but it was tested.
