Full test in Multihulls World Special Issue N°24 Forever Green: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/motor/sy62-3-deck-open-an-eco-friendly-catamaran-designed-for-long-range-cruising ► Developed using the Silent 60 as a base, the 62 has gained 34½” of extra hull length, but is above all, the brand’s first model with three deck levels.: cabins in the hulls, central nacelle, and flybridge. Until now, the yard was offering an optional helm station featuring a retractable T-Top for protection, but aboard the 62, there’s an immense 538-square foot (50 m²) flybridge that remains fixed. This generous surface area provides space for a bar, galley, dining table and large bench-seating for 10 to 12 people. The flybridge is of course covered by a vast T-Top, which not only provides protection but, above all, is suitable for installing an optimal surface area of solar panels. But the manufacturer goes a step further than the classic open fly version - which is the one we got to test at Cannes - as this third level can also be converted into a closed saloon or owner’s suite. The drivetrain chosen for this model is identical to that of the Silent 60: despite its displacement now approaching 40 tons, the 62 is capable of covering 100 nautical miles in 100% electric mode - at reduced cruising speed, of course. A kite can also be deployed for longer passages on favorable points of sail. ► Builder: Silent Yachts Length: 61’11” (18.86 m) Beam: 29’6” (8.99 m) Draft: 3’1” (0.93 m) Displacement: 86,000 lbs (39 t) Cabins: 4 Motors: 2 x 340 kW Battery: 286 kWh Solar panels: 17 kWp ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! One of the things I love about sailing the world and traveling the way we do is trying new foods and learning new ways of cooking. In Trinidad, one of the clear winners has been Green Seasoning! A simple yet versatile seasoning mix, we'd never come across it before visiting the Caribbean. Now, it goes on BBQ ribs and chicken, and into our Trini curries, almost becoming a staple in our galley fridge! I show you how I make a flavorful, Trinidad-inspired green seasoning, a staple in Caribbean cuisine, before finishing off with some delicious BBQ! In mine I put thyme, spring onions (chives), pimento, habanero and parsley, garlic when I remember, and usually a bit of oil and lime juice. You'd usually add chadon beni to a Trini green seasoning, but we tend to skip it as one of our boat's crew prefers it without. _________________________________________________ After backpacking Asia, road tripping Europe and doing a bit of van life, we’re now exploring the world aboard our Leopard 45 catamaran.
