Race One of the annual narrows series on Strangford Lough got under way under cloudy skies with a moderate breeze GTR worked to leeward of its main competitors before hitting the pin with speed which allowed them to punch out into the stronger tide which helped the leewbow the three boats to windward of them. It did not take long for them to cast a wind shadow on the boats to windward of them allowing them to put the bow down and race off towards mark 1 in the lead.. The Melonseed Regatta at Mystery Bay was the first invitational event for Gig Harbor Boat Works boat owners. GHBW invited Melonseed owners to join up, meet one another and sail their boats together on a gorgeous summer day. It was quite a success and we hope to have more meetups in the future!
