With full sails and steady winds, we arrive just in time for a golden sunset in the bay of Peguera. We explore the historic heart of Palma, including the stunning Palma Cathedral (La Seu) and the Royal Palace of La Almudaina, before enjoying some authentic Mallorcan cuisine at a local favorite. Back on board, it’s time for some essential sailboat maintenance. We take down our headsail, inspect and lubricate the furling system, and patch a few tears on the leech. With Vika on the winch and Kaia back in shape, we’re ready to continue our journey. We are enclosing and extending our wheelhouse before winter for protect and so we can move the mainsheet from the top of the aft cabin to above the wheelhouse (better safety and a better sheeting angle). We have nearly finished the prototype/winter hack frame. We are now living aboard our Rival 38 Centre Cockpit full-time while finishing a refit so we can launch ASAP.
