It is the first storm of the season. Hurricane Agatha in the Pacific crossed Mexico into the Gulf (Now the Atlantic Hurricane region) and turned into Tropical Storm One. Heading right to us. It was weak, but you never know if it will stay that way as it moves over the warm Gulf of Mexico water. Ever ridden out a tropical storm or hurricane in your house or boat? For the last 2 years, Franco and Manuel have been sailing on some of the world’s most unusual waters (Lake Titicaca, Loch Ness etc) in order to raise awareness of global warming and highlight the association Ocean Foundation who campaigns for the protection of the world’s oceans. The name of this initiative: The Grand Tour Sailing. On June 10th, they arrived in the spectacular Disko Bay, 350km for the Arctic Circle. The outside temperature was around 5°C with the water temperature at a brisk 2°C. The wind was quite light but the currents were strong. To immortalize this unique moment they indulged in some nautical jousting between the icebergs in the company of the Italian skipper Elisabetta Maffei. The next step for TGT ? Venice !
