Quick test of a tiny QEV cannon firing air at 12atm, viewed through a Schlieren setup (no razor blade). Edited from to 1/4th normal speed. I didn't quite understood the need for a razor blade but without one I still see the flow of air. For me, the razor blade just makes the dot of light smaller(?) If anyone can clarify me what the razor blade really does and where it should be placed (in the source of light or in the camera) I'd really appreciate. Also important to note that this is AWESOME to look with the naked eye but almost the dimmest light can blind you. I covered a tiny LED torch with aluminum foil and punctured a hole with a sewing needle, on the side! so that the LED doesn't bright directly through the hole. Take care with the eyes!!

This little visitor landed on Li's deck! We were sailing from Haapsalu to Kökar #. First half an hour she just slept, keeping balance perfectly. Listen how I'm whistling and she blinks deep brown eyes. After gathering some energy she started to explore the deck. Going through every corner trying to find something to eat. As an insectivorous bird she didn't like served rolled oats! After catching one spider she started to do short preying flights around the boat and always returned to the aft deck to eat her catch. Many ladybugs lost their lives. I didn't even know that there are ladybugs flying in the middle of Baltic Sea. This common redstart was unbelievably fearless! She let us even touch her feather coat gently. Then also another common redstart landed! She was soaking wet shivering on the cockpit floor. But the first visitor was angry and drove her away. To make this rare meeting more strange, a threatening falcon was gliding circles high above the boat for almost two hours. Just like wanting to add some drama! Maybe it has been chasing these little birds and they were seeking for a shelter. When the first islets were on sight the little passenger left.
