If you like this quick preview and want to learn more the link below has a full video tutorial on how to Gybe your A-Sail on the outside in any wind conditions. https://youtu.be/izvjlOoak8Y An A-Sail can also been know as an Asymmetrical Spinnaker, regardless of what you call it the skills need to gybe on on the inside are the same. Being able to gybe the A-Sail effectively on the inside you limit the travel the sheets need to tack reducing the time it takes to gybe the sail which limits the loss of boats speed while reducing the likelihood of tangles. If you are sailing a boat with a short bow sprit it can be safer to gybe your A-Sail on the outside, this reducing the risk of getting a messy and time consuming forestay wrap. If you need to master this skill you can learn how in one of our earlier bottom up boats videos. https://youtu.be/I6NPfpa_V_E The team at bottom up boats hope you enjoys the speed session crew demonstration. With a little bit of practise and every crew member knowing they role you will be gybing like pros in no time.
Full video - Just the two of us! We're a sailing couple, on Lewisville Lake, Texas, and we do love to be anchored in the cove and cook on the grill. We determined what needed to be done with the water leak on the boat, and when we get back to the marina we head to West Marine for boat parts! #lakecruise #sailingcouple #catalina30 #sailing #sailboat #piratelife
Say hello to Stormvogel; a timeless offshore icon and now the standout classic in our growing fleet. She's not just graceful; she's formidable too. In the 2023 Rolex Fastnet Race, Stormvogel claimed 6th in IRC Zero (and placed 11th overall in IRC) from a massive field of 358 starters. Launched in 1961, Stormvogel was one of the world's first lightweight maxis-designed by Van de Stadt, with input from Laurent Giles-and built of cold-moulded wood. She won Line Honours in her first-ever Fastnet, and over six decades later continues to sail-and compete-with unwavering spirit. With more than 50 entries now confirmed and less than 2 months remaining until the 2025 Rolex Middle Sea Race, anticipation is building.@rolexmiddlesearace
