Six things worth building a British Virgin Islands charter week around, counted down from six to one. 6. The Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke — a Caribbean icon since the 1970s, named for the way guests arrive: anchor offshore, swim in, and your dollars come out soaked. Foxy's, in the next bay east, has been a cornerstone of BVI yachting since 1968. 5. The underwater world. The RMS Rhone, an 1867 shipwreck off Salt Island, and the Kodiak Queen, a WWII vessel turned artificial reef and art installation near Virgin Gorda — plus the pinnacles and swim-throughs at The Indians. 4. A treasure hunt on Norman Island, believed to have inspired Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island, and once a real stash spot for stolen treasure. It's about an hour south of Nanny Cay on Tortola. 3. A wellness charter — daily yoga on deck, sunset yoga on the beach, meditation, therapeutic massages and spa treatments, for anyone looking to reset from a demanding routine. 2. The Willy T, the floating pirate bar built on a decommissioned tanker that has served thirsty sailors since 1989. It doesn't close until the party ends. 1. A holiday at sea. More and more of our clients are choosing Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year in the BVI — crews learn your family traditions, Santa has been known to make a surprise stop, and Trellis Bay lights up with Aragorn's fireballs on New Year's Eve.
